Post by: WaltZ on July 02, 2021, 02:59:40 PM
what are the pressures for a 1969 Z28 power steering pump.
mine died and having an issue locating one with the male thread connector.
I have the connector, but the suggested reman will not accommodate that hose connection fitting.
or suggestions on which pump is proper replacement...
Thanks in advance

and everyone have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July

Most power steering systems relieve between 1250 and 1400 psi. Flows range from 1.8 to 6-8 GPM. Most of the issues we saw in the rack and pinion designs were flow related. I'm sure someone on here will have a trouble shooting / rebuild, test service bulletin for a 67-9 unit.

1969 Camaro uses a variable ratio power steering box. All V/8s the pressure is 1350 - 1450.

Constant ratio power steering boxes that are found in Novas and Chevelles have a 900 -1000 pressure.
