Title: 1969 Horns - Need Quality replacements
Post by: Indyguy on June 13, 2021, 07:53:31 AM
I did some searching here and other sites and saw the OER horns for 69 are good replacements.
I ordered a pair and one is "clocked" incorrectly, it looks completely wrong and, since the brackets are welded, I am wondering if there is a way to rotate the horn on the bracket so it looks correct?

I am also ready to return these and hunt for something better, any suggestions?

The reproduction folks haven't been able to beat (or get very close to) an original part yet...

If you have your originals, there's supposed to be a guy who rebuilds them...Joe

The previous owner put some cheap ones on it, they work, but they look bad.

Is there anything even decent that I can use?

I was considering buy the OER universals, at least then I could clock them correctly. Not ideal though.

I used Gary at The Horn Works to restore the original horns on my '68. He did a great job!

One of my horns was correct but the other was not. He had an original correct core for the horn I was missing and restored that for me.

That being said, he may have correct cores for your car that can be restored.
