Title: Help with master cylinder cap
Post by: ReaperEd on February 01, 2021, 10:52:05 PM
Attached are photos of three. Are any of the three correct for 68 z28?
If not, a pic of a correct one would be helpful.
Thank you~

Thank you, the one I have on the left appears the closest with the indented air relief holes.

Stay safe~

The one on the left looks like the one on my 71 LT1 and the same as on a 70 Corvette as well.
The one on the right I believe is a reproduction - the oem domes have a fillet at their base VS a distinct transition from a die edge.
I am going to assume the OEM 68 one doesn't have the brake fluid SAE J1703 spec on it - I don't remember whether the 69 one has the brake fluid spec on it.

It does have that. You learn something everyday. Using the SAE J1703 as a search phrase I located a thread started by KurtS.
No I am correctly armed for the hunt.
Thank you ~

That's what I thought the 68 cap does not have the J1703 spec on it.
