Brake Booster date code
« on: September 18, 2012, 12:16:09 PM »
Is it likely (possible?) that a 9204 booster dated January 2 (Julian code '2' on the tag) on an 04A Van Nuys car could be original? I understand that they are usually much closer to the body trim tag date, at least with the Norwood cars.

I see your car is a '69 but if it helps, my 67 LOS 4B still has the original 8515 booster dated 82.
Give Steve at brakeboosters.com a call. He has some intersting findings on booster dates and has likely seen more boosters than anyone here.

My 11D Norwood car has it's original booster dated 310 (November 6, 1968), which is less than a month from my build date.

My 07A has 163 which is 12th of June and that puts it  2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

The original booster on my 02D Norwood '69 is stamped "55" (February 24th), and it came off the line on February 28th.

Thanks guys for your replies, seems the booster is dated too early for it to be original to the car.

Could be original. Most are closer than that. Question is: is it worth chasing down a closer one? I'd tend to say not.....
