National Speed Sport News indicates Penske is in negotiations with AMC to run Javelins in 1970.
This is barely a week after Riverside.

Even before the '69 Trans-Am season ended, Penske was in negotiations with AMC to drive Javelins
for the 1970 season. It certainly made sense from a financial standpoint since Chevrolet could only
offer technical assistance with no money to back it up. This report from National Speed Sport News
shows the Penske to AMC deal was completed two weeks after the last race at Riverside. The deal
for Dan Gurney to drive for Plymouth happened equally fast.

From Chris Economaki's editorial column, same issue of NSSN...

Mike, I have never seen a photo of John Cannon driving the Bud Moore #16 car at Lime Rock. I have wanted to,
since it was a one-off drive for him, but so far no luck finding a picture.

Here are a few news items from the 12-24-69 issue of NSSN. (Jon Mello Collection)
David Pearson is choosing not to defend his 1969 Nascar championship by running only part of the schedule for
the 1970 season. He was hoping to be Parnelli's teammate in Trans-Am but apparently Ford didn't want to pay
up the $$$ so that could happen.
