Sylvania not only made bulbs for headlights but also made backlit number panels to assist the timing & scoring
people at the races which went into the evening hours.

Below is the #15 Penske Camaro at the '68 Sebring 12-hour race. The number 15 on the side of the car is much
easier to see in this nighttime photo thanks to the backlit Sylvania number panel.

Not a Trans-Am related ad but a rare ad for Nickey Chevrolet showing an unused funny car for sale plus their usual pitch for high performance cars.

I'm not sure if the Z88 is a typo or what, Fred. Here's another ARE ad, this one coming from Car Life magazine, June 1969.

I was going to start a thread containing ads that featured Trans Am related ads until I found that this one had already been started.  I plan on including magazine ads that feature something related to the race cars that either competed in the Trans Am series from 1966 to 1972 or were built to homologate parts or packages for Trans Am racing.  The ads I will show will be either from the automotive manufacturers competing in the Trans Am series or from other automotive companies and sponsors.  I have a good portion of these ads in a scrapbook but my scanner is not working right now, so I will upload pictures from the internet.  I will try to give as much info on a particular ad as I can but this is not always possible since they ran in so many different magazines and issues within a given calender year.  I will start out with the ads that feature Camaros and then go on from there.  Enjoy!

This first ad is from Yenko Sportscars and it features their 1967 Yenko Z-28 Camaro Stormer package.  A larger version of the ad can be seen here: http://67z28.com/gallery/albums/67%20Camaro%20Print%20Ads/Yenko/Stormer-2.jpg

Here is a Yenko Sportscars ad that also features the 1967 Yenko Z-28 Camaro Stormer.  The picture was included in an article entitled, "Stormer: Yenko's Other Camaro" that appeared in the June 2012 edition of Muscle Car Review.  It was written by Drew Hardin and the photos were credited to Jon Mello, Tim Lopata, and The Peterson Archives, so I'm not sure whose this one actually is.  The caption for the photo in the article states, "Yenko beat Chevrolet to the punch in offering a rear spoiler for the '67 Camaro, a feat he trumpeted in this ad.  Note that the Stormer in the ad is Bud Gates' car."
