My father was a dealer in the 50-70's.  Select vehicles often had vinyl tops installed to provide ADP.  (additional dealer profit).  Although unusual to have brown vinyl top on Z/28.  Rarely have I heard of a Z/28 to receive an aftermarket vinyl top unless there was a either a defect or a warranty claim.  Nevertheless, I also was the proud owner of Z/28.  As a college student I ordered a new 1969 Burnished Brown Z/28 with white stripes...best color ever!  Interior in my car had black carpets & dash with white seats and door panels.  Also it had a dealer installed under dash 8 track player; wood grain dash; front and rear speakers, tinted glass, cross ram in the trunk (never installed and sold with the car); cowl induction hood, spoilers front and rear and it did not have a console. Also, it also had a factory installed 1970 Z/28 steering wheel and the car was built in Norwood, Ohio.  Unfortunately I sold the car to pay for grad school and would love to have the car back. I trust that it is a survivor...

So what part of the country were you in when you sold it Kobe?  Maybe someone here can track it down..

Tracking it down would be easier with the VIN.  But I do think it would be worth looking for if you want it back.

Oh, and I like the color a lot!

My '69 Z/28 clone was originally burnished brown with a dark brown vinyl top and ivory interior.  It was painted dover white with the vinyl top remioved 2 years before I bought in the '05.  A friend here locally has an original burnished brown Z/28 with black interior. It's a very nice car but not my cup of tea. I would have not bought the car I did back in '06 had it been burnished brown.  I don't care for the color.  I have seen quite a few "61" painted '69's over the years.  Most of them must be in Nor-Cal.

I was at the local Chevy dealer Friday talking to the salesman who has been there since 66. He said there was a BB z28 in town for years in a garage. He said the car was raced and came up for sale and they went to look it and the battery was in the trunk and some other mods so they passed on it. I believe he said it was sold and repainted a different color

KobeSauce, I have to reply to your short story relating to a 1969 Camaro Z/28 in Burnish Brown/with Brown Vinyl top.  That vey car you described was my first "hearts desire" back in the day.  A fellow man ordered it, (1969 Camaro Z/28 w/Brown Vinyl top) and got drafted in the Army to fight a war in Vietnam.  The car sat on the lot into the 1970 model year, and I thought if I waited long enough, I could strike a bargain.  Well, long story short, I waited to long, and some lucky fellow spotted this shining gem and bought it.  This has been the only such car I have ever come across.  All other Camaro with this color, (Burnish Brown) do not have vinyl tops.  This color is still my favorite.  I now own a 1969 Camaro SS/RS Garnet Red 4-speed Big Block Camaro.  Hope you find you dream car someday...........Don
