Kevin:   I measured the vent tube diameter of my A/C...   it is 1 inch in diameter....

I do not believe the 2 notch snorkel is orig. on the flat bottom version. It may have come from the later rib base type. I can send you pics. for you to research.

I'm not sure what the '2 notch' term refers to..    a photo (or two) might help..  :)

Exactly what the difference is between an SS350 manual base [6485233] and the Z/28-BB base [6485235] I do not know.

The difference is the between the SS350 manual base is the vent tube has a sharper 90 degree bend to the base of the of the air cleaner. The tube are the same size.

OK..  I think your 'two notches' refer to indentations or 'notches' along the seam of the snorkel?    I have a second original air cleaner (fllat borttom) so I checked that unit tonight.   The seam is along the front side of the snorkel(towards the front of the car), and about halfway along the seam is a little 'notch' in the seam (only one notch)...   The snorkel is right at 11" long (from the back curved edges to the tip), has an inlet of 1.5" ID, and the curved outer lip of 2-3/8" in Dia..   At the point where it connects to the base, it is an oval slightly more than 4" in width, and close to 2" in height.

Is the vent tube for the bottom of a cowl AC available in any form?   In examining a spare cowl AC I purchased 35 yrs ago, I jsut noticed that the vent tube is missing.   (The extension is missing also, but I remember giving that to a Z-28 friend in the late '70 who needed it (He bought GM OTC cowl air cleaner, but the 302 extension had been discontinued by GM).   Will a repro extension fit an original air cleaner?

I have a 69 Indy Pace Car with 350/300 with build date of 04C and I have a flat base air cleaner with a 90 degree elbow and a DG sticker.
