I was watching that auction. I don't know if that is a real deal or some ebay games as the last NOS ball sold for about $300

can an original chrome shift ball be replated as many replaters do not plate zinc parts

I had a bunch of them and they look like they are made of aluminum to me.
They can be replated. Many chrome shops who do motorcycle work can plate aluminum.

The chrome did peal off on the originals so many got replaced with a white Hurst aftermarket ball.

I think that is why they are hard to find now.

I only have seen a few that have good original chrome.

anyone interested in an original 4 oz shifter ball check ebay remember one sold for 900.00 just a few weeks ago this one is buy it now $250.00

It was real.  The buyer is schmitty283 and he left this feedback comment... "been looking for one for a long time nice ball!"
