you can buy a new muncie super case which is supposed to be able to handle 500 ft/lbs with no problem... you can also buy 2.52 gearset with the M-22 angle for improved torque handling.

the supercases are new and i think it adds 1/2 inch to the length of the trans... but for the cost of a supercase.. you can put a Tremec TKO 600 in it.. which is a close ratio 5 speed that has a 2.87 1st gear and .87 or optional .64 5th gear.

I have a TKO 500 in my 64 Pontiac behind a 428. the tko 500 has 3.27 1st gear and I have 4.88s in the back of that thing... talk about fun LOL  runs out of 1st gear at about 25 mph but 0-60 is about 4 seconds,,, which isn't bad for a 4500 lb car LOL
