« on: August 09, 2011, 10:23:50 PM »
Can anybody tell me how to identify an orginal 68 302 oil pan from the 69 302 pan and the replacements. I'm putting together my 68 302 motor and not sure if I have tje correct pan. Thanks

Hi Jerry,
You have been very helpfull to guys with question on this website. You answered some questions for me and also sent pictures to me . Thank you very much. Your 68 z/28 is a 7c car and mine is a 6d car. I would like to have some info from your car to see if my dates are in line. If possible would you send me dates of your exhaust manifolds. mine had headers on it when i got it and I have two sets but not sure how close on the dates they need to be. Thanks alot Gary

Hello and happy hoildays,
My dates are 3872730 RH D-18-8, E-8-8. The 3892683 LH C-4-8, D-1-8, C-20-8. Since Jerry car is only 3 weeks later I thought that would give me an ideal of which ones to use or look for some more. Thanks for your interest.  Gary

I believe 68 and 69 Z pans are the same.   Here is a tutorial on diferences between originals and the ones that are still available over the counter for under $100.
