Sealant between the heater box and the firewall?

What type of sealant is used between the heater box and the firewall?

None on the inside box ( the dash mat becomes the gasket between the inner box and the firewall). The engine side blower housing had a bead of neoprene or vinyl plastisol sealer applied in its groove before it was attached to the firewall.

That was where I meant, in the engine compartment.

Almost any Black Body Sealer in a tube applied using a caulking gun. Ask at the Local Paint suppliers
