« on: July 14, 2011, 12:53:43 AM »
Car does not have the chrome appearance package (no side chrome or wheel lips etc) should it have the vertical chrome trim in the rear taillights? Standard interior car.

No vertical trim on the tail light lenses for an 'X44' car. Interior trim is not a factor.

Hard to find. Prying the trim off style trim lens usually leaves cement residue or chips the plastic.

The car is an x11 car with a 2d build date shows no sign of ever having the vertical  trim. The guys at the cruise tried to tell me mine were missing, so we went and looked at others, all of them were chrome trim cars. It looks like all of the repops have the vertical bars?

why is it that you say x11 cars have chrome trim option? this car is a copo clone. Were all x11 copo cars only Berger??? I come from the corvette world of the NCRS and want to make sure that everything i do is the way they left the factory. I plan on racing this car at the pure stock muscle car drag races and the F.A.S.T. races

Virtually all of the first L72 COPOs [01B] went to Yenko. A few other dealers learned about the COPO and ordered some for stock. There are few 02D L72 COPOs; Berger and Emmert Chevrolet seem to be the dealers for those. The next group was built 03B with Yenko receiving most of them.

Most COPOs were not ordered with style trim group [Z21] and have X44 body tags. Some of Bergers [and other dealers] COPOs did have style trim and have X11 tags. A very few Yenko Camaros were ordered with it.

If your clone has an X11 tag it should have style trim group.

Emmertt was about 4 miles from my house and I am looking for any information and material on Emmert Chevrolet.I really want an original license plate frame or dealer tag. One of the old timers that hangs out at the shop remembers the Copo camaros and that a few of them were stolen right out of the lot.he does remember that they did have a Cortez silver Copo at one time, hence I am looking to use the home town dealer for my car.

Emmert had about 20 COPOs, half with special paint. The only one I saw was an automatic RS, white with a green interior. But it was Can-Am White, a Corvette color. Neat car, very low miles. Another was for sale at Super Chev Indy many years ago. It was Verdoro green, a Pontiac color.

Merollis Chev in Detroit had 5 re-issued Gibb ZL-1s. Legend has it all were stolen one evening, recovered missing engines of course. Only one still exists but all 5 VINs were recently registered in Canada.

William, thanks for the info.the 20 Copo cars you mentioned that went to Emmert, are you talking zl1 cars or 9561 steel copos? Do records exist as to what dealers got what quantities of 9561 cars. What about production numbers by month? Any idea of the ratio of chrome trim to nom trim 9561's

Emmert did not have any ZL-1s.

There is very little known about non-Yenko L72 cars. There were 1,015 MN/MO engines built so there were around 900-950 cars built. Most COPOs did not have style trim.
