Mark wrapped up the Trans-Am championship for Chevrolet by winning at Bryar. This was his 8th victory in a
row and he would end up winning 10 of the 13 Trans-Am races in '68. A dominant effort. Tony Adamowicz
won the under-2-liter class and also had a dominant 1968, helping Porsche win U-2 that year.

Thanks to Mr Lathrop and Jon for all these, they are like gold to those who love the T/A aspect of the Camaro HP development.

Glad you enjoyed this feature, James. Here is some more info from one of my issues of Competition Press.

This first tidbit says Donohue had the championship locked up prior to Bryar but Camaro
still needed three points so mathematically Javelin and Mustang were still in the running.

Jon, is there any other known pics of Skip Barbers 1968Z ? The rear end pic is great, but it would be great to see more of his car or the set up. I am told the car was eventually scrapped out. thanks

Actually researching more it appears Grimaldi rolled the car and actually rebuilt it, though it was not advised. It looks like it had a good amount of success into the 70's :https://historicracinggroup.com/grimaldi.php

And it is in museum now as "Old #80"  :https://www.nemsmuseum.com/articles.html?n_id=591

Not from Bryar, here's one from my files from Bridgehampton in '68, might have been here before ? I have another shot, can't find

it right now of that unusual instrument set up.

As usual scroll l-r for full image  ::)

Is this the same car ? this colour image was here before I think by Jon ? drivers listed as Grimaldi & Barber.

Mike

BULLIT65, the two links in your earlier post #25 don't work for me.

Well I don't have a #34 associated with the car with what I have found. The first pic you posted shows the car with rocker moulding and a drum brake rear end. I am pretty sure Skip Barber was the first person to race the car and it had the J56 (rear disc)HD rear already installed at that point.
