1969 DZ carb/cowl induction set up
« on: June 07, 2011, 05:39:10 PM »
I am replacing an aftermarket Holley carb with a correct DZ carb on a 69-Z.  Could someone please post some pictures showing the linkage, choke, and other hook ups.  Also, it had cowl induction so that is being redone as well.  So any pictures of the cowl induction throttle arm, wiring, and other CI bits and pieces would help.  Thanks

All of that detail is shown in the Z28 and ZL2 sections at the back of the '69 Assembly Manual. Photos below.

I changed that fitting so I have a handy spot to connect my vacuum gauge for adjusting the idle mixture screws.

If your '68 or '69 Camaro was originally equipped with the Rally Sport option (Z22), you'll have the extra port there already.  The extra port was used to supply vacuum to the retractable headlamp cover actuactors.  Just temporarily disconnect the hose and connect your vacuum gauge.
