Solid valve adjustment - DZ 302
« on: May 30, 2011, 12:44:45 PM »
Typically speaking, how often is valve lash adjustment required for the solid lifter DZ motor?
I've adjusted hydraulic valves before but never solid lifters.....I would think they are similar. Any recommended tech procedures out there on this topic?

BTW: I've read it's best to set them cold at .026"/.026" for a more stable idle, better sound, and improved throttle response. Any comments?

Have you read this CRG Report?

After reading the CRG report, I set my valve lash last week at .026 on both intake and exhaust, it sounds and runs great.,
I also installed poly locks to keep them in adjustment longer. :)
