Pretty sure this is the car, no pics of trim tag or any stampings. If it's the real deal, then a rare car with Dusk Blue and White interior.

Shows a picture of someone with a can of paint underneath the car.   I always wonder why people can't install the cowl induction seal correctly.

A red flag are the words, "correct" & "built" 302. Not sure if the owner means rebuilt, but these words are usually a dead give away for a non numbers engine.

The owner sent me the following pics...interior & exterior colors good...X-code good...not sure on the engine (partial vin doesn't add up)  & not sure on the intake.

It could be the original engine. Other 01C Z/28s have that date.

Learning more and more about less and less...

Is this car in the data base? It appears to be drawing a lot of attention. Strong money & the $$$ the owner spent restoring the car certainly doesn't show up in the results. Under carrage very rough, not to mention the rattle can John mentioned & I don't think I have ever seen such a poor job with seat covers...

Seller spent two years restoring this car and most of the finishes are not correct, non functioning cowl induction system, no smog, etc. He says no paper work for the car except about $25,000 in receipts, does this mean this is what he spent on the restoration? If so, it looks like a $15K resto to me and I think he over paid for what was done.

That rattle can pic says it all, IMO.

Why someone would post a photo of a BUG BOMB being sprayed at a "restored car" is beyond my comprehension.
I love the colors, however the details are not right... no clock, wrong steering wheel, no rear bumper guards, rear stripes are wrong, grille is the wrong color... There are too many incorrect finishes to be worth much more than the current bid even if there were not a TT/VIN correlation issue.

Unless he sent the wrong pictures or has the VIN incorrect in the auction, then that (and the engine dated December 13th, 1968) points to either a swapped VIN or a swapped Trim Tag and drive train.

Something has been swapped on the car.
The VIN is 124379N617443 which is a March car. Trim tag is 01C, NOR230999, which is 2 months before VIN.
Tag may a real tag, but is not original to that VIN and looks to have been off the car (maybe just during resto). Either the tag or the VIN were changed somewhere along the line.
The pad stamp looks OK, but that's too late for a March car - it is OK for a 01C so it may go with the tag.

Seller is fubab2 in AL.
