Hey Guys,

I am still trying to find a correct Quadrajet for my 69 SS350 with Automatic Transmission.  I know the numbers I needs, which should be:
7029200, 7029202, 7029204, 7029206, 7029208, 7029210, 7029212, 7029214, 7029216. 7029218, 7029220, 7029222, 7029224, 7029226, 7029228.

If anyone thinks these numbers are wrong or there are more numbers I could add to my wish list, let me know.  If you have or know of a carb that will fill my need. let me know.  I don't care if its already restored or needs parts...as long as I can work with it.  ,

70292(0,1,2)(2,4,6,8,0).  I currently have a 7040511  date 0620 (approx. March 3, 1970).  This is a California Qaudrajet if I am reading it correctly.  So, if anyone is in need of one and wants to trade, I'm open to that for sure.  I also have a 7029223 date code 2488 (approx. August 5, 1968) However, what would be a good date.

I think you need 7029202 and they are on eBay all the time. Some are cores, some are rebuilt but they are plentiful. If you run across a Carter 7029203 I need it for my 4 speed car.

Here is a 7029223 but it is a Quadrajet.  Why a Carter instead of a Q-jet?

See ebay #  120675464288

Also, I have been told different date codes to look for.  I found a Q-jet with the correct code I need (7029202), but it is a 0429 date code (Feb 11, 1969).  My Camaro is an 04C car (3rd week April) and the numbers matching engine is T0312, which if I am reading it right, is March 12, 1969.  So, would a 0429 Q-jet work?  I have been told to look for a date about 3-5 weeks earlier.  But earlier to which date?  The vehicle build date or the engine build date?  I guess my question is, what date range would I need to look for to have the correct carb?

Thanks.

That February carb should work fine with your engine.

About the Carter. I made an error in my post. I need a Quadrajet that was manufactured by Carter. My POP says that's what my engine came with.

But earlier to which date?  The vehicle build date or the engine build date?

The carburetor should be dated back from the car's final assembly date, not from the engine assembly date; the carburetor was installed at the car assembly plant, not at the engine plant.

So will a 0429 (February 11) manufacture date on a Q-jet be an okay date for an 04C vehicle (3rd week of April)?

What date range should I look for?

Additional information with regards to date range...my Carter Q-Jet is dated November 68. Car build date 12A, 1st wk of December 68. And the engine build date is November 11, 1968. The car is a 69 L48. As for restoration I'm seriously considering using Cliff's Restoration.

Here are a couple of pics...

So will a 0429 (February 11) manufacture date on a Q-jet be an okay date for an 04C vehicle (3rd week of April)?

What date range should I look for?

I would say this date would work fine, although March would be even be better.

(Quadrajet Date Code) : 0429 (February 11) manufacture (assembly) date for an 04C vehicle (3rd week of April)...

Informative read!!!
Was looking for something like this.

Kurt and/or Mark ,
Was searching for a thread discussing how the date codes should be understood.
Julian dating for a Quadrajet, the numerical sequence :
Is the date starting on January 1'st, of each year for Quadrajet builds?
In looking at a date, did GM count every day of the week in towards their numerical stamping on each Quadrajet body?
What I was thinking is that every Saturday & Sunday counted in the numerical order when being designated with a build date.
Is this a valid statement?

So, let's say, a 7029202 as above, the 0429 date...
Should we all count Every Saturday & Sunday towards the numerical order increasing in order to determine the actual day of the build of a  Quadrajet ?
