pollyurathane subframe bushings

I have a 68 and was thinking of installing the urathane bushings on the sub frame.Is there someone out there that has done this and how did the handeling change?

Did you check Team Camaro?  Lots of "modifications" there...  Pro-touring guys, too.

I have tried poly in the subframe and did not notice anything all that different but I don't push the car that hard.

On the other hand, the poly A-Frame bushings I tried are not an improvement with my near stock suspension setup. The poly bushing material is slick and allows a lot more easy movement in the front suspension on turns. The OEM rubber bushings are "fixed" and have the rubber loaded in shear(resisting rotational movement). That rubber in shear works well with the stock springs and roll bar. It makes sense that the OEM setup was tuned to the hard rubber bushings and stock roll bar. If you take away the rubber in shear's twist resistance from an otherwise stock suspension that it would allow more body roll in turns - and it does.

Different types(rubber, poly, solids) of Subframe bushings do not have different affects on handling, from my experience.
The car will handle the same with any of them.

Tanks for the replies.I have replaced the front upper and lower a frame bushings with new oem so I will stay with that.I have been looking at sway bars from diferent companys summit seams to be the most reasonable.I think your paying for the name with some of these other companys I know the old saying you get what you pay for but summit is a reputable company and I have been satisfide with preveous perchacses.Anyones feedback is always appreciated.
