Can you get a photo of the tag on the transmission to show the numbers stamped? It would be interesting to see if it is the correct "CC" transmission and the typo was on the POP.

I'll almost guarantee that it's the right trans. The clerk just had problems reading the writing on the broadcast sheet and misread the C as a G.

Would you happen to have a pic of the cowl tag? :)

Thanks!

Looks like the POP really does say 69C331 to me, but then my eyes are going bad.

Look at the difference between the JG code above it, and on the BR1001G code to the right.  The "G"s there look alot more rounded, and heavier on the open ends, than the one in they tranny code.

I'm pretty sure I have the tag, I remember that VIN number for some reason.

Tough call Mark...I wish I had a better pic to draw from. I'm having to bounce the image (a poor image at that) from the monitor onto a mirror. Here are a couple more but I don't think they help much. At any rate I think you are on track with the rounded G's. And...the thing-a-ma-gig on the G is missing. Just wish there was another C stamped on it somewhere to use as a comparison.

I got a response back from the owner & will be getting the trim tag pic sometime soon.  I also hope the quality of the pic improves. I'll post it as soon as it comes in.

Thanks

I think Mark might be onto something. If you compare it "G" in question with the other "G's" on the TT, it's very different. The "leg" of the transmission "G" might just be a shadow. I blew it up a bit more and it does look like a "C".

Marty, there is software that can reverse an image. If you can get a clear shot of the tag and post it, I should be able to reverse the image. May or may not be helpful.

Okay, It's definitely a "C".

I compared this one to several other POP's I have and you'll note that all the "G" have a little "nub" on the horizontal line. The transmission stamping doesn't have that "nub" so it's a "C".
