68 - 4 speed speedometer cable clips
« on: March 17, 2011, 02:02:57 AM »
I am looking for 1, 2 or 3 of the original speedometer cable clips used on 68's with a four speed.  2 of these clips mount to the passenger side tunnel to hold the speedometer cable and 1 of them mounts to the firewall behind the distributor.  None of the current repo's that I have seen are correct.  Does anybody have one of these, or know where to get a correct original.  Thanks.

Lol... I made a die and anvil then had to file the damn things to get them close...AFTER paying $9 each...
Probably got about $200 in labor minimum into the things...

Very hard to find with the ears intach.Like he said the repops are junk and over priced. I did the same thing ,reshaped the repops. Then plated them the correct silver cad. Called up Ricks and told them about the ears and they laughed at me.I told the tech from Ricks I would give him a hundred dollars if he could bend the ears in a blind hole.He said they are very nice reopops and nobody ever complained before. Said I didnt know what I was doing.  John

I've already burned my bridges with Rick's.  Told them where to go.  I've had it with retailers forgetting "the customer is always right".
