Yes it did open in 1970 however the hype while under construction was tremendous. The investors and Hollywood was on it like white on rice from the inception. Courtesy Chevrolet in Los Angeles is no longer there but there are other Courtesy Chevrolets in So Cal. none that I can tie to Los Angeles. The hype started years before it opened so Courtesy Chevrolet jumped on the bandwagon and dealer optioned a SCCA showroom special with fiberglass add-ons. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it.

None of your story squares with the history of OMS on Wikipedia. No SCCA race, no marketing until December 1969. Construction started late '68.

A lot of investors hyped OMS and it was a super track when completed. In the spring of 1970 the International
sanctioning body scratched their plans to run a SCCA GP at OMS in May.  Although taken out of context that was a written article found on wickapedia. Word of mouth was already out there and in the marketing world the early bird gets the worm. OMS had to make other plans, years later unfortunately they were financially mismanaged and sold to developers by the parcel. Back to my point this track was well hyped before, during and after construction so I would think some marketing guru would supply a SCCA Z28 replica. before, during and/or after the construction of OMS. Marketing wise this would be a very wise west coast move to boost sales for a Chevrolet dealership. Even if it was a one time only showroom car. My original question put out there was did anyone have any info on any 1968 Z28 that was dealer optioned with SCCA treatments from Courtesy Chevrolet in Los Angeles Ca. The time structure certainly fits as well as the marketing aspects of what could be. I am trying to get any info possible to try and verify any existence of this automobile, if any.

Just to be clear I am not saying this was a normal dealer option. I am comparing this to how the dealers in todays market would hop up a new 4X4 truck with aftermarket accessories. One time showroom car to draw attention to the speedway. I'm working with the original owner but it's a very slow process....very slow. So if anyone has any info that would help.

Houdini,
Does the owner have any pictures to ring a bell? What kind of dealer options? "COURTESY   WESTERN AT 9th"
did sponsor road race cars. Corvettes for sure.

Yes, Courtesy at Western and 9th. 1968 British Green w/white stripes, 302 engine, M21 4 speed, 410 posi 12 bolt rear end, glass flares bolted not molded all around, air scoops behind the doors much like a mustang would have, rear glass spoiler molded to trunk but not quarters. Car was stolen and stripped of SCCA pkg. wheels and front seats tossed POP from glove box. Had it for a year before it was recovered w/all drivetrain in tack. Original owner 65 years old looking for any pics and paperwork but moving at a snails pace so I am trying to get some help on the outside. Thanks for responding.
