67/68 vs. 69 Rear Spoiler
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:25:37 AM »
I recently read in Motorbooks  Camaro Restoration Guide that a '69 Rear Spoiler will not work on a '67 Camaro, is this correct?

The 67-8 Camaro has narrower rear 1/4s than a 69.  The "short" spoiler used in 68 was carried over into the 69 model year, with the transition to the wider spoiler being pretty much finished around the end of Feb 69.

The long 69 spoiler won't work on a 67.

After much research I have come to the conclusion that what I have is a GM NOS(in box) '68 spoiler #3916633.  I found the answer to my own question above, 59 in. for the '68 vs. 61 in. for the '69.  Thanks for your help guys!
