Thanks to a friend of mine,I just got off the phone with a man who used to own the dealership where my JL8 car was bought brand new.Long story short he thinks there is a slim chance he may have paperwork on it. Very Slim.but he is going to look this weekend. I told him the paperwork is very valuable to me and I would pay alot for it. He said he would give them for free, and I said again how much more valuable the car would be with the factory paperwork, and I would pay alot, so he looks real hard.. He remembers the car well and said he actually sat in it before it was delivered. Remembers the buyer, the salesman, the whole story, all of it.
I had called the dealership years ago looking for paperwork, which was renamed Meier chevrolet in 92, from Feese-George Chevrolet as it was in 69 in Sullivan Mo .They told me all docs were only kept 7 years. And they never had the ones from 69.Thought that was end of the line.
The owner of the dealership in 69 till 92 told me he destroyed alot of paperwork when the dealership sold, but still has some in a building, not sure what though.Mr Feese is genuinely intersted in seeing the car again. Its hard to beleive a dealer would remember a car from 40 years ago that was in that day, just a new car.
Probably too good to be true.To me it would be like winning the Lottery.
