Unrestored 1967 RS

I purchased an unrestored 1967 RS with 28,000 actual miles. It has original paint and has had nothing done to it during the time it was stored (last 25 years). Interior is absolutely new. Under the hood need some freshening up. Original paint on valve covers flaking, paint on fender aprons and core support needs painting. I would like to know if it will be worth more left untouched or should I detail under the hood?

its only original once. But its your ride and if you start to make it nice do it right.

Everyone has an opinion.  For me, I like to see "survivors" once in a while.  Mine is kind of like that.  I would just clean thing up the best you can and enjoy its' originality.  Whether it's worth more $$$ one way or the other, I really don't know.  We'd love to see some pics!

I would much rather see it as is and not have any paint work at all. I also have friends that would have interest in the car the way it is but once you start fluffing they have no more interest. You can paint those pieces and have it look like every other semi restored car or leave it alone and have a piece of history.

Please post some pictures, particuarly of the underhood area, and the suspension, both front and rear. ... If the car is all original, it will be invaluable to those of us trying to restore one that has been tampered with previously.  What engine/transmission are in this one?

I prefer original...but when the dents and rust have to be fixed...you have to paint. My 68 Z/28 RS is a 42,000 mile survivor, the sequoia green paint is long gone, but the white stripes still look good.  It has a couple of small dents but no rust.  I've noticed  people like to look at all the original things just as much as they do the new stuff.  I think you can paint a solid car and it looks good, but if you've ever looked at the stripes on a survivor Z, I do not think many painters will take the time or have the knowledge to recreate all the little things I see in my stripes.  PS I'm a newbie and this is just my opinion so don't beat up on me!!! Like they say, "it's only original once"!
