Intake Manifold Question
«

I am installing the original factory aluminum intake on my 68 302 and my gasket kit gives me little metal restrictor plates for the center port and says to check your application to see if needed. Can anyone tell me if I need to install them or just throw them away?

If you are going to use headers there will be no heat riser to force hot pressurized exhaust into the intake manifold. However leaving the center passages open will eventually heat the intake. For best performance the intake manifold should be as cool as possible. So if you plan on headers plug the passages and replace the stock thermostatic choke with a manual or electric [if you need a choke].

I am planning on using the stock exhaust manifolds with a heat riser. So, based on that, are you suggesting that I use the restrictors?

Nope. Toss 'em and use the stock choke set up.
