My Camaro's Birthday
« on: November 30, 2009, 12:57:11 AM »
I‘m looking for some help to see if I can determine my Camaro's Birthday.  CRG has all my numbers, but I am going to leave off the last digits here. 1969 Z/28, build week is 05A, body # is 32247X, and VIN is N64195X. I have the dealer invoice dated 5-15-69 so it didn’t sit around long.  I would like to know best guess when the body build started and about when it might have rolled off the end of the line. Thanks.

Probably finished 5/12 or 13 and shipped about 5/13. SWAG, but probably close.

Who was the selling dealer?

Thanks Kurt. From the database when do you think the body build might have started?

The selling Dealer was Taylor Chevrolet in Rochester, they have been out of business for quite a while. I have found the original owner and asked a lot of questions about the car. I did not ask, but I don’t think he ordered the car. I hope to have a reunion with him next summer.

From John's article, http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml:
It took about two days (four shifts) for a body to go through the Fisher Body system, and another day and a half (three shifts) to go through the Chevrolet system.
