galvinized floor plug restoration original dated pieces
« on: October 26, 2009, 01:48:59 AM »
Does anyone know what the best way to reproduce the galvinized coating? In the past I silver zinc plated the plugs and they looked good. Any company make galvinized paint in a spray bomb? Thanks John   Allouez Restorations

I think Eastwood makes a "galvanized-look" paint, but I don't know how durable it is vs. zinc plating.

There are many sources for G. paint. I used used in the sign and awning business. And obvously they use it on fences also. Prices vary. Just search "galvanized paint" and you'll get a bunch of prices and sources. A quick search found two 5 bucks cheaper than Eastwood. But nothing is like the real plating.

If you're doing the car for judging in concours, get them plated.  We'll be able to tell the difference.
