Adding Gills to an X77 - Opinions Please

I own an X77 Z28 with numbers matching M22 transmission, 12 bolt BV coded rear end (however 3.73 gears) and non matching motor (Generation II, GM Performance Crate 454 LS7).  The car is hugger orange with a driver quality restoration.  I recently bought a set of original GM rear quarter gills, restored them, but have not installed them yet. 

Will adding rear quarter gills to an x77 devalue this car?

That would depend on what your buyer wants. As noted above, it will be difficult to undo. If the car is for sale, maybe offer to include them uninstalled. In my opinion the gills are probably worth more on e-bay than they would be worth on the car.

No, they will not devalue your car. If you like the look, add them. The extra "bling" will only help at resale time for a NOM Resto-mod car.

It seems that true X-77, X-66, X-55 cars are a dying breed. It seems to me that at least 75% of these type of cars have had some sort of style trim group added. If your car has no style trim group options added I would tell you to leave it alone. I like things that are different than the masses and it appears the masses love to add some sort of trim. But do what makes you happy it is your car.  Does your car have other style trim group options added?
