printed circuit dates
« on: August 26, 2009, 06:09:55 PM »
Is the date breakdown for the printed circuits on here anywhere board?   I searched but couldn't find anything.  I'd like to know what this date translates to if possible.  Thanks.

I didn't make that first post very clear.  Does anyone know how this date decodes to?

What's your car build date?  Is this original to your car?  Maybe we can figure this out on our own.  I'm pretty certain that mine is not original to the car.  So is the A the month or is the 5?  Somebody on here has to know this.  There was a thread on gas tank dates and it went 5 pages.

Just for you...   :) , I got my flashlight and crawled under the dash of my 02C Van Nuys built '68 Z/28.  The original instrument panel printed circuit is date stamped in black ink as follows:  J 102067

My date stamp (102067) is easy to decode = Friday, October 20th, 1967!

Anyone know what the "J" refers to?  The car has the 6K Tic-Toc-Tach with the U17 console gauges.

My car is an 07D build and everything points to it being an original gauge car. There are other dates to look for, one on the tach housing (Jun 14 1968) and the other on the housing under the circuit board (Jul 17 1968). Hope this helps, RonM.

I do appreciate it Paul.  I did that once on anther thread and felt like I did situps for an hour.  I wonder why there is a different format with your date?

I think my pod was dated as well and said May.  I think it's my original pod and someone added the tach.  I want to go back to the idiot lights and have a source for used printed cicuits and was trying to figure out how to decode these dates that Ron and I have to get one that is correct for 05D.  Is the A and or J some kind of plant or shift?  J would be Oct. but the A would be way off for both Ron and I.

Kurt, know anything about this date format?  You figured out the gas tank one so we're all looking up to you now.

Yes, I was.
A5 looks to be constant and a different font. Maybe the date is only month and year,  2 68 and 6 68 (which fits the 07D build).

I found a C 5 68 printed circuit date for a 68 Camaro and don't know what the build date of the car was.  Any further ideas on dates?

could the a5, c5 etc refer to different circuit boards? Either different options, or different versions etc?

I'd have to see if Kurt knows.  He said as above that A5 was consistent, but that circuit was a gauge one and the C 5 is an idiot light one.

This is 68 stuff. I don't know much about details like this - never owned one. :)
You need more data to help draw conclusions here.
