Thanks Paul - does the manual state what the gap should be in order to achieve the recommended dwell setting?
No, there is no specification for the point gap in the '69 Chassis Service Manual for V8 engines.
I do have a 1968 Sun Electric Corporation tune-up chart for the 302 and it states the point gap should be .019" for new points and .016" for used points.
Remember, if you have a dwell meter and can set the dwell at 30 degrees then the point gap is perfect, no matter what the specification is!
