Could someone please tell me which was the
option
when ordering an automatic transmition in 1968 the column shift or the consol shift. And what about with the RS package, the RS SS package and does it hold true for the convertible???

Scroll down to the transmission row, and I think it will answer your question.

So if I read that table correct it is possible to have a 1968 RS SS convertible with an automatic transmition and shift lever on the column

Most definitely.
What's the build date of the car? Curious if it matches that axle.
