Pitman Arms

Ok, I've seen David's site, searched everywhere, but still confused because I'm finding conflicting info or maybe I'm just not getting it so please forgive me!  Could someone please tell me exactly what pitman arms go to what application for 68 cars?  I'm specficly looking for right number for 68 PS, on a SS car (quick ratio, long arm I assume? - and if anyone has one for sale please let me know!!!)

Something formatted like this would be great if it's not to much to ask, and looking for the forging numbers:

68 PS standard 39xxxxx A or B
68 PS quick ratio (SS, RS) 39xxxxx A or B
68 PS special (Z28) 39xxxxx A or B

Keep seeing 3953219 listed for both PS & MS.  I know there ones with A & B after the number, is one for PS other for MS?
Also on Davids site, 3908391 is listed as 67 PS long fast ratio 5.8 but I see everywhere else it's a MS arm?
Last question, were these painted gloss black factory installed or bare cast iron?

Last known GM part numbers- 3989445 which supercedes to 14083584. 68 camaro w/spec & w/pwr st. Sorry, no GM dealers show any stock.  I believe they were natural cast finish.

Forging number 3953219 shows to be for manual gear box.

Paul, you left out the number for the one I need!  What up with that

My 74 crash book shows that 445 arm for a 67.  It shows 443 for 68-69 but just designates W/PS, no reference to any spec. or fast ratio for any.  Anyone know what length that 443 arm is or what the forging number is?

My source is much earlier (and from GM) than your '74 crash book.  I gave you all the part numbers listed for a '68 Camaro at that time (2-15-69).  The numbers you have are more likely to have been superceded.

Paul, not doubting the info, and appreciate it!  I figured the #'s in my book might have been superseded that's why I was asking.  Also was asking for the forging #'s because I'd have a better chance finding teeth in a hen then finding a NOS GM arm!  How come there's no PN for the 68 CAMARO w/ P/S, Spec. Steering (exc. 302), listing?

The comma after the description means the part number is the same as for the description below it.  Therefore, the part number for "68 CAMARO w/ P/S, Spec. Steering (exc. 302), " is 3908379.  Sorry, I assumed you knew that.

The only forging number they list was the one I included in reply #3.

I didn't get that, the 2 descriptions totally contradict themselves so I didn't think it was the same arm/PN.  Figured the one forging# you gave was from your car.
