Sound Deadener Overspray

Hi all, I want to spray sound deadener on the rear wheelwells on my "68" and need to know if there was any overspray on the underbody when the factory sprayed it. I couldn't tell because the car was also undercoated. Thanks for any help, RonM.

The photo below is a restoration, but it's typical of the factory sound deadener application in the rear wheel well.

John, At what point during assembly was the sound deadner applied?  What underbody components, if any, were installed prior to applying sound deadner.  When was the front applied?  Does anyone have any opinions on what's the best product tp duplicate the sound deadner?

The sound deadener in the rear wheel well was applied in the Fisher Body Paint Shop, before any bolt-on underbody components were installed. The deadener on the tire side of the front inner fenders was sprayed on the inner fender by Chevrolet before it was assembled to the front clip in the off-line front sheet metal subassembly area.

john, do you have a pic of the front wheelwell application. i got the rears done with some help from jerry M and ken lucas. not sure exactly how much of the wheel well was covered. the aim shows only the rear half of the well covered.

Design intent was to coat only the rear half of the inner fender, as shown in the A.I.M. - that was the highest area of stone impingement.
