1969 Z28 08C build question.
« on: September 14, 2008, 01:21:38 AM »
As new to the site I have been reading and learning more and more.  I read a response to a question last year by Mark,  that another person post with a 08C 69 Z28 build car. He also has many parts for his car that is dated May and June for his 08C build.  I guess it does make sense that production was to end so dealers were not taking as many orders so build numbers were down??? I know that 70 camaros were delayed and that whole story.  So my 08C build car,  which was delivered to the original owner around  August 20th has a May 29th build motor with casting dates 26, 27th of heads, etc.       Does anyone else have a 08A   or 08C  build 69 camaro Z28 or other car with early parts???             I know that 08B did not exist so my car was a early August build to be sold onthe 20th.    I love the site and the information seams endless.  Thanks.

I think that there were no where as many Z28's ordered during the time that our cars were being built because of the end of production and people would have held off for the much anticipated 1970 model.   The rest is history.  Some people say that my motor can not be the original because it was made  May 29th and others say that it could be.  1 to 6 weeks is the norm but there had to be exceptions especially when our cars were made.  All previous owners, and I have talked with them all but one who is thought to be deceased have all said the motor is original. The trans was replaced early in thecars life that is why it is a 1970 muncie and the rear end was changed out inthe 70's because it was beat and had 4.10 gears and during the late 70's theh car was used as a daily driver in California where the car spent 75% of it's life.  The car now has a 1966 12 bolt 3.31 posi.  Thanks for the reply.
