C.O.P.O. - Automatic Transmission

How many column shift automatic C.O.P.O.'s were built?

Can someone supply actual numbers or statictics or better yet some articles on this topic?

I have seen a couple, but there is no way to know how many COPO's were column shift equipped.  Here's a CRG research report by Bill GLowacki with regards to the 9560 & 9561 COPO Camaros:  http://www.camaros.org/copo.shtml

almost all of the Yenko 1969 COPO 427 Camaro and Chevelle AT cars were column shift.
Yenko then installed a Hurst his/her duel gate shifter in most of them

In my experience most automatic COPOs are column shift. 21 of the 22 ZL-1s were; only #54 had a console.

A good friend owns an automatic Yenko Camaro with a factory console; quite rare as most were converted column-shift.

As I recently pointed out elsewhere the existing L72 COPO Camaro body of knowledge is based on half or less of the 950 or so built. Plenty left to learn.
