Here's some pic's of the two I have for my car.  I believe the first one is correct for the date of my car, more like a 67 jack than those typically seen on a 68, but I have no idea.  There are no other markings and no date codes on the first one, HELP!

First Contestant:

Second Contestant: I know this is not dated right for my car but is it the right style?

Also, reason I'm asking about the jacking instruction sticker is the date for the "68" sticker is later than the build date of my car so technically I have a 67 sticker but I KNOW that's correct because I have the original I very carefully peeled of the trunk lid.  So I'm wondering if the Jack styles changed along with the sticker change, which was well into the production of the 68's.  Someone with a "68" sticker please post the date!
Thanks!  I hope we can find some things out here like with the woodgrain ash tray!!! ;D

Chris, like I said above, there was more than one supplier (something like 3 or 4), so they may all look different. I don't believe it was a "date" thing, but a "supplier" thing instead. One car may have gotten a square mast and the next one in line may have gotten a trapezoid.

But hopefully, someone more knowledgable than I on jacks will post with better info.

I know, that's what makes this so hard, but imo I would think the supplier thing would have gone in batches rather than 1 car to the next because the jacks (at least the ones I have) do not interchange with the bases so in that respect, it would have been a mess mating bases to jacks on the line.  That's why I'm trying to find someone with a close build date and see what jack they have.  And I'm not questioning your knowledge, you have helped me many times in the past!  As for the date on the sticker thing, just want to see if maybe there is a connection to that in some way.  Thanks for the info so far & let's keep this going to see what we find.

Paul, what's the date on your sticker?  Your jack resemble either of the one's I have?

No, I wasn't sure about this one and it didn't have a base.  We have a big swap meet tomorrow and I'll look there.

Hey, in that picture from 68Z, it looks like the stamping is on the bottom of the load rest!?!?  Shouldn't it be on the top like this or did they come both ways?
Or is mine a re-pop?

My orig load rest is stamped on the 'back' not the face
face = mating surface with the bumper.

LOS
12E

your stampings look comparable, they might have not been very concered at the time of manufacture and stamped them both ways.

Jim,
Thanks!  Couple of questions if you don't mind?
Whats the date on your jack and does it look like jack 1 or 2 in my post above?
Also, what's the part # and date of your jacking instructions if their original?

I think (Positive) my load rest is orig.

Now the jack is 36" long & Square and does not appear as your sample 1 or 2 so I do not think what I have is F body, btw no stamped rivets either. (Form Fit and function similar)

The jacking instructions are REPOP circa 1987 classic Camaro ( I painted my car that year and likely desrtoyed the orig) and applied the repop 3949516 3-6-68 version (My Car is a (E) 5th week of DEC 1967 build) I did not find this number in the 68 AIM?
