Identifying a 69 Camaro

I need help identifying a 69 I recently purchased.  It had no engine or transmission, but according to VIN it is a V-8 car.  It has SS badge on rear, it is Huger Orange, manual brakes, drum brakes all around, no AC, has power steering, hideaway headlights, backup lights below bumper on rear valance, has multi-leaf springs and 10 bolt rear, black front grill, and black bumble bee strip around nose.  It has the chrome drip rail but no wheel well trim, which could have been removed to paint.  Is it possible to have a RS/SS as plain as this?

The 69 SS Stripe would have been the hockey stick - up the front fenders then turns and follows the body line and tapers ending on the door. Here is a starting point for your research: http://www.camaros.org/diffs69.shtml

Nope; all 69 SS cars had power front discs.

Did the power front disc brakes as part of the SS package begin in 69 ? Also, is the big block heater cover a good indicator of an SS ?

Yes, the SS package in 1969 included power front disc brakes. A big-block heater blower case (if original to the car) means SS, or COPO (unlikely).
