Carburetor restoration problem
« on: November 06, 2007, 04:19:11 PM »
I sent my Quadrajet to http://www.customrebuiltcarbs.com/index.shtml , when l sent it out he told me 2 weeks. That was now over 2 months ago. Now I know things like this take time and l don't mind waiting alittle more than what l was told but when l call him to see whats going on, and l have only called 3 times so far, l get the run around like he's on the phone etc. l have been told he'll call me back blah blah blah. l know they are busy but this is bull. Has anyone had any experience with these guys?  Earl

We do Q-jets and Holley at our shop too, CHP.  TAR is about 3-4 weeks because we send all of the parts out for replating.  We also bench test every carb before it leaves the shop.

Jerry:
If I may ask, what does rebuilding a Quad-Jet cost? Or is there a web page I can look at if you would rather discuss it there?

Dave,

Complete carb restorations are running in the $300-320 range right now.  Used to be $295 plus shipping ut the plating shop keeps raising their pricing which effects us. I am in Iowa right now.  Call me anytime when I get back to the shop on Monday and I can go over any questions that you have.

Price sounds reasonable to me. When I get to that point of rebuilding I will give you a jingle.
Thanks for the response

I have also used them about 6 months ago, carb looks great.....Phil was cool and a straight shooter.  My buddy also used them for a corvette tri-power resto and it was perfect.  I think my quadrajet took less than two weeks.  Excellent job.

I have used Custom Rebuilt Carbs many times in the past with no issues at all.  On a personal note, Phil is a close friend of mine and I find it
difficult to believe that he would give you the run around.  He's as straight as they come.  If you are still having problems, contact me ASAP
and I will intercede on your behalf.  Steve
