Replacement glass

Has anyone had any experience with Auto City Classics for replacement date coded glass? Who is the best supplier?

The consensus on yenko.net is either Auto City or oemglass.net would be the way to go

most date coded glass is chinise and the marking gets put on here,  i would rather get so lof, the windows are hard enough to adjust and if the glass is not quite right it makes it damn tough.  i know through experience i put some date coded glass in a 57 chev convertible getting them adjusted after was more work than it should have been.

Auto City Classics are a middle man for Pilkington.

Pilkington is the original manufacturer of 1st gen glass. I used them and know of many others who have been very happy with the glass.
They etch the windows to the exact date code of your originals. I did a side by side comparison.

That said, I believe Pillkington is buying at least some of their repo glass from the orient and simply reselling.  Marking them here though.  That's what I recall from a discussion I had with them several years ago.  Main thing, however, is, does the glass fit.

Glass fits okay but there is a lot of "shadowing" in the glass as of late.  For a show car, this is a problem as you can see discoloration in the glass, and for what this stuff costs, it should be very nice in the condition catagory.......but some of it is not.

I tried some Pilkington door glass for a '69Z I was restoring a couple of years ago and found it to be a terrible fit. The curvature of the glass and the corner radii were way off. They gave me my money back but did not offer to replace the glass. I ended up finding some nice original glass.

I dealt directly with them (Pilkington) and my glass is all clear. I ordered it probably 5 years ago now and had zero problems. My original door glass was scratched and chipped. We took them side by side and compared and it was the same glass. I dont know whats going on now. This is the first bad things I have heard about them.
