Interesting that you ask about cut-away concept Camaro. At the Spring Carlisle swap meet this year (2007), I bought some parts from a vendor who told me has exactly what you are talking about. I walked with him to his pick-up, where he showed me phtographs. The car was for shows only, and had the following features:
- it was mounted on a turntable
- it had two front ends, a six cylinder and a V8
- through a series of electric motors and pumps, you could literally switch from the 6 cylinder to the V8. The front end of the car would lift off, and then you could rotate the other front end in place and lower it
- I do not believe the engines were real, but did have electric motors that spun the fans , etc.
There was a name for this concept vehicle, but I can't remember it. As I recall there were only a few made. It was a first gen Camaro, but I don't remember what year.
Anyone else heard or seen this vehicle? It must be very, very valuable.
