Those wheels were produced beyond 75. It's a 1978 wheel.

The DC wheels will fit on your car.  The big difference between the DC and DF wheels is the wheel offset: DC = +.06, DF = +.50   ::)

What's the build date on your car?  I have a friend who has a complete set of DF rally wheels all with the same date.  All four wheels are stamped K18  7  16  DF .  The problem is he knows they're rare and wants big bucks for them.  He also has a complete set of XG rally wheels (stamped K18  5  8  XG and a complete set of DG rally wheels (no date stamp) if anybody is looking.

Paul,

How much does he want for the XG's? Does he have 4 or 5? I might be interested if I don't have to give up my first born!

The later 68 DF's dont bring as much money as their earlier counterparts, especially the 67 or real early 68 wheels with the inverted DF only by the valve stem hole.  I think that there is a big misconception out there that any DF wheel is worth Big bucks.
If the dates are July 16 68, they may not have even went on a production 68 z/28 and may be a service replacement wheel. That would lower the value, IMO

Looks like these wheels are too late (July '68) for your car (April '68).   :(
Don't give up looking.   :)

Jonesy -

These wheels (and the other sets I mentioned) are all off production cars.  This guy is super meticulous (never married, no kids, same job for 30 years, spends his lunch hour at the auto salvage yard next door, etc...).  Anyway, he has every part labeled with:

The date he pulled the part.
The make, model, and production date of vehicle he pulled it from.
Price he paid.
Anything else he feels is relevant.

The service replacement wheels were available after '68 Z/28 production was complete and therefore are date stamped accordingly.  Like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280119160995&rd=1&rd=1

There are other differences between the production and service replacement wheels all covered in detail in Jerry's '67/68 fact book.

July 16 wheels would be very late and possible on production I guess. They still dont have the value of the earlier wheels from what I have seen.
Month and day dated DF wheels in 68 are worth about $250 ea and 69 service replacement about $150. The 67 and early 68 wheels are the hardest to find with just the inverted DF stamping. These are the big buck wheels that go for $600 and up each.

Even a complete set with the exact same date?  That should be worth something extra.   ;)

Good to know.  I have five of these wheels on my 02C '68 Z/28.   :)

I hope you're not in a rush for those XG wheels.  I called him today and his answering machine said he would be in Belize until mid-July (must be nice).  I'll try again then.
