Could be lots of Camaros, should I jump the fence?
« on: May 15, 2007, 06:27:25 PM »
I live in a town that once had a Camaro graveyard/salvage yard. The guy that owned it loved first gen Camaros and was really nice. He died in an accident a few years ago and his brother, who I went to high school with, took over the buisiness and made it a Camaro and Mustang salvage yard. This guy is not the sharpest fellow around and is not a Camaro fan that I know of. Anyway the buisiness quickly failed and since I got back to town no one is running the place and the phone has been disconnected. (I heard something about family bickering and or a drug alcohol problem??) I'm wondering if there are any first Gen Camaros left in there. If so are there any worth restoring? Could there be any valuable or rare parts in there? The whole area is fenced up and I'm so tempted to hop the fence one day and see what is in there. I have not been in there in 20 years and there could be nothing but crap but then again, this is a smaller southern town and not many knowledgeable Camaro people around  (I could be wrong but I doubt it) I think the place has been closed for about 5 years or so. Should I hop the fence for a look see? I could try to contact the last owner but he is not trustworthy and not a nice guy either, and I would probably not get anywhere.....

Is it not a crime to let innocent Camaros rust into the ground? ;D

Jump.  It's easier to beg for forgiveness than to beg for permission.  At least it's worked for me.  Don't ask.

Go for it!  No guts, no glory.   And bring a camera with you and post some pics here.

And lots of cash so you can post bail if you're caught!    :D

Seriously, I don't know about the laws where you are, but here you have to have signs posted every 100 feet or so saying this, that and the other thing in 50 different languages and if it isn't, it's not trespassing.  Of course that doesn't mean that someone wouldn't shoot first and ask questions later.  I'd do it.

Use the "additional options" link below the window you type your post in, and you can upload images directly from your hard drive; 640x480 images work best, as they don't require scrolling to see the whole photo when folks click on them.

I would consider a video camera. You can record comments as you go. I would also consider using a lookout...

Good luck,

I will have to wait until this weekend, just dont have the time until then. I'll consider both the videocam and the lookout. I could bring my girlfriend, she is hot and can probably talk us out of any trouble!
