Late to this party, been away for awhile. There was a lot of research done on this subject in the 90's(?), also briefly mentioned in the old 'Camaro Enthusiast' magazine (Jan. 1998). There were 2 different styles documented (at that time) and the author went to great lengths to track down the stampers. Don't think he participates on this forum anymore but I'll reach out to him?

Wow the washer pump cover is clearly different than my 11B LOS.

The stamping doesn't match either.

Wasn't there discussion about using different vendors at some point?

This is really interesting. Thanks for the post! I really appreciate it.

Good catch on the cover. The one pictured in your #29 looks just like picture in the Legends manual. I seem to recall rebuilding pump, VERY long time ago (probably late 1970's???) ...maybe a replacement cover? (hmm... have to look into this)

Is the 67 cover the same as 68?

You see thousands of these at various swap meets

Here is a stamp from my 11B Van Nuys car. The font is Roman.

Looks identical to mine. I don't believe the font is roman.

Here is what I’ve found, vintage United Delco. Font and technique is about spot on.

Steve

Hey Steve,

I'm not sure how I missed this. The font does look darn near perfect.

Could you do me a favor and post a test stamp of 287 66 for me when you get time.

I know this will sound strange. There seem to be differences in how the fonts render on my modern computer, compared to the old-school physical stamp font.

I was trying to track these down a couple years ago. This photo shows a sample of what they called 'Roman' although this particular stamp (TX, you may recognize?) is much larger than the wiper stamp.  The other style was called 'Gothic', I think it was mostly used on newer cars?

At the time I was researching this, i ran into a problem. This type of stamp was being discontinued and I was unable to place an order (this was summer 2022). Had an order in progress but it was cancelled/unavailable.

I tried to revisit some of the shopping links I saved in 2022. Not yet found one that works (dead links or moved)...

Post #38 above (ref. to #18) came in while drafting #39. Photo in #18 above I would say is the same font (though mixed sizes).

Looks like DavidK found a good lead in #19! Hope it plays out...

I bought 4 pullman stamps off of ebay so we'll see if they match up.

If any of them match I am more than willing to send the stamp to whomever has a legitimate need to use it.

The older Roman font is different than the current version of Roman.

Well the vintage Pullman stamp is for sure what was used.

I bought four of them and the first arrived today and is a dead ringer for the stamp. I need to work on ink/paint and my technique before I actually do the stamp but pretty happy with how it will look.
