Correct PCV Valve for 1968 Camaro 327 V8 Base Model

Hi First Gen Camaro Experts -

I have a 1968 Camaro base model standard V8 327/210 hp with a production date at the Norwood plant on May 14, 1968 (05B).  I need to install the correct PCV valve for judging competition at the Concourse level.  In doing some research, I understand that the correct PCV valve might be CV736C with p/n 6423695, but that there were two variations of these valves.  The late design being cast with an extra step and the early cars had a spun design with a flat top.  Is CV736C the correct PCV valve for my car and what would be the correct variation?  Many thanks.

cv736c 6423695 is the correct # for your car. There is a design change but not sure what it was. Maybe somebody else will chime in.

Many thanks for the information.  In the 67-68 Camaro judging manual it states that in 1968 "the PCV Valve is CV736C for all V-8 Camaros except the Z28 which received the CV746C.  Two variations of these valves exist with the late design being cast with an extra step.  The early cars had a spun design with a flat top."  My car was assembled on May 14, 1968 so would it be considered an early car and have been given a spun design with a flat top?  Or would it have received a late design?  More importantly, did the two different PCV designs only apply to the CV746C PCV valve used with the Z28?  Thanks again.  gwp4
