Two tone trim tag
« on: March 09, 2023, 01:47:21 PM »
Thoughts on this trim tag? Local car for sale. Wear matches the car but rivets just bug me. Ill get for sure but looks like 01C or 04C. May look at it this weekend.

Body # says it's 01C.

That's not unusual for an 01C NOR tag. Must have had a newbie on the line that week.

Again.. im no expert but to me, the patina along with the condition of the tag itself makes me believe its a good tag. The epoxy in the rivets looks like it was flattened / smeared when installed. Ive seen them flat like that and with big glob hanging from center.

Not epoxy; it's seam sealer likely dispensed from a pneumatic applicator. Probably didn't always shut off properly; not unusual to see a goober of dried sealant on top of the cowl where the operator set the applicator down to wipe the rivets.
