hi, can anyone decode an engine pad # T1013HC ? its in a 67 L30/M20. thanks. anthony.

Anthony,

"HC" was used from 1965 through 1969 in a few different models and configurations:

1965 Full Size 327/250 with a Powerglide and a 4BBL carb
1966 - 1968 Full Size 327/275 with a Powerglide and a 4BBL carb
1969 - Nova and Camaro 350/250 with a 2BBL carb and manual transmission

As paul said, get the date code and casting number of the block and we can narrow it down for you.

1967 Fullsize 327/275hp

T1013HC =

T= Tonawanda Engine
1013 = Oct 13 build
HC = 1967 Fullsize Chevrolet 327/275hp with Powergilide trans
1967 RS-Z/28 Nantucket Blue the D-2 car
1969 RS/SS 350 4 speed Azure Turquoise
1969 Z28 Azure Turquoise

so dose it mean this car whitch is a L30/M20 is a clone because it is a factory 4 speed ? (im thinking of bying this car today). thanks. anthony.

Read through this carefully BEFORE you buy it as a L30/M20:

There are several other things you need to check out...
All you've found thus far is that it doesn't have the original motor.

There are several things in the article that you need to check, for example:
"So it was not well-known (and still isn't3) that the L30/M20 Camaro was the only regular production 1967-68 Camaro outside of the SS/Z28 models to receive the heavy-duty "12-bolt" rear-end, right-side radius rod (in 1967), and multi-leaf rear springs (in 1968), as well as additional performance equipment otherwise exclusive to the SS or Z28 lines."

The engine info you gave indicates it is out of a Fullsize Chevrolet. It is not the original engine to the camaro.

hi, it has the 12 bolt diff, rhs radius rod, p4 on the tag, ect. everything matches to what the artical says except the hc on the engine pad. anthony.

OK, so now the replacement motor becomes an issue in the value of the car.  You have the info. that you can use in your negotiations...
