Dating a Hurst Shifter, Help
« on: July 12, 2022, 04:25:46 PM »
I purchased a '68 Z/28 and it had a Hurst Competition Plus installed. I pulled it out and saw some numbers on it. I went online and could not find the correct info. Any help would be appreciated. Apparently, there is a Book?... Danny

I found the mounting bracket and the shifter handle. Hoping to figure out what I have here. The bracket part #5284 and shifter Part #4106

It appears to be a mix of parts.

Not an original First Generation Camaro shifter. Did you read the link I posted?

Bryon,
I did thanx. I had glanced at that before. There were no numbers that seem to line up with my stuff exactly. It's a nice clean unit that may be ok to just detail clean, lube-up and install. Nice Tee handle with minor flaws. The car it came out of did not run. And had been sitting since the early 70's. So, I can't say it shifts well. I want to sell it, so maybe I will try CL for a few hundred bucks and see what happens. Anybody else have info, maybe the era, please chine in.    Danny
