Thank you...none of the parts suppliers is carrying this rod...a good friend who has owned his '69 convertible since 1970: base SBC, saginaw 4spd, removed the lockout linkage to install headers many years ago. The car is now restored but the linkage is long gone...he had in his new parts bin the reproduction Muncie linkage.

I'll now fabricate rod. I think (have to go to my AM to be sure) the bell crank and upper rod carry the same part #.

Again, thank you.

I’ll consider a possible parting with this part.
BTW- there are 2 on eBay right now.

I can tell you for a fact that the bellcrank for that Saginaw is different than a Muncie. I do believe the Saginaw and TH350 & PG share the same one.

You are totally correct: the M35 "idler lever" is the direct opposite of the bellcrank for a Muncie installation. Now I have to find one of those PN3895290.

The saga of the Saginaw 4-speed reverse lockout idler assembly (bellcrank) mounted to frame: see the illustration above...

Resolved the problem of the Muncie vs Saginaw configuration (each the reverse of the other in position of the rod ends) by cutting the Muncie assembly arms at their base (or top), flipping them over and welding into position. Works like a charm on the Saginaw and with good beads and grinding the revised assembly appears untouched.

Too bad you screwed up the Muncie bellcrank. Goes for over $100 new repop. I’d have given you 10 of the correct bellcranks for that one and $75.

I still have another new repop of the correct Muncie bellcrank (which was sent by a supplier as the correct bellcrank for the Saginaw)....our Z car has original assembly installed...this car is a good friend's 52-years-owning 307, saginaw 4 spd convertible...he'd had headers on the car in years past but now needs the reverse lockout and backup lights operational....sometimes you gotta make do with what you have...

Appreciate your advice and guidance!
