69 L48 Throttle Linkage
« on: January 16, 2022, 11:58:49 PM »
Can someone with an original SS 350 / L48 show a picture of what holds the throttle arm to the carb linkage?  I would love to see both sides where the the throttle arm is connected to the carb, and how it is connected to stay put.

Thanks in advance!!!

I'm subscribing, since I need this info too.  I have a straight throttle rod going into a hole with a clip, not sure if this is proper.

Okay sorry for the delay in posting. Heres my throttle linkage. My car is a Van Nuys RS/SS 4 speed car NON Air conditioning car built 11B.

I believe this to be the original one that came on my car. I bought it in 1979 so it was 10 years old, but this was the setup on it then. Im not sure if its in the correct hole on the carb linkage. There are 3 to choose from. Also I know the spring is in the wrong location as it should be on the coil bracket instead of the spark plug wire stand.

Also the correct part number is 3923539. The parts houses carry this, but it is not a straight rod like mine, it has a couple of bends in it. I did find an NOS one that is straight like mine for sale on Yenko site.

Thanks Jonesy - appreciate the pics.

On the other side of the carb connection - is the rod held in by a C clip?

As for the rod itself - I have the 3923539 rod, but all I see are the slightly bent / straight ones (like the one you have) on most of the 4BBL cars.....so what is right?

Hope someone chimes in........

I have the correct springs bracket (often missing) and straight bar like that one.  The spring goes in the inboard very small hole.  I will have to get pics of mine later.

Heres a pic of a known NOS rod. 3293539. This is exactly how my original is.

Awesome stuff Jonesy - I appreciate the clarification.
The Camaro parts folks have this item all screwed up.  -  But you can't argue with NOS.

Here is a pic of my linkages.  I need to check for that bend, plus move the swivel to a higher hole.

But it shows the small spring bracket that mounts to the coil bracket.  I used the double springs, works well

Kevin

I think your throttle rod is correctly attached to the carb. Mine needs to come down to the lower hole and I need to get rid of the washer as that is not needed.

is there a part number stamped on the rod that Jonesy posted a picture of or is it just a known number?

I do not believe there is a part number stamped into it
